Workplace Policy
How we build our team, deliver for our clients, and work together from anywhere in the world.
Last updated: 18 March 2026
Remote-First
We hire and collaborate with highly skilled professionals from anywhere in the world. Location is never a barrier to joining the Kancoding team.
Excellence by Default
Our goal is to deliver every client project to the highest possible standard โ on time, on brief, and with craftsmanship that speaks for itself.
Talent Over Geography
We believe the best person for the job should get the job, regardless of their time zone or country. Skill, attitude and drive are what matter.
Mutual Respect
Every team member is treated with respect and professionalism. We celebrate diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and ways of working.
1. Our Workplace Philosophy
Kancoding is a remote-first digital agency. We believe that great work is not tied to a physical location. By embracing a fully distributed model, we are able to bring together the most talented designers, developers, cybersecurity specialists, and creatives โ wherever they are in the world.
Our mission is simple: deliver every client project to the highest possible standard. Everything we do โ how we hire, how we communicate, how we manage our time โ is shaped by that commitment.
2. Remote Work & Global Hiring
We accept applications from highly skilled professionals from anywhere in the world. We do not discriminate on the basis of location, nationality, or time zone. What we look for is skill, reliability, and a shared commitment to quality.
Team members may work from home, a co-working space, or any environment where they can perform their role effectively. We trust our people to manage their own time and take ownership of their work.
What "Remote-First" Means at Kancoding
- All tools, processes, and communication are designed to work asynchronously.
- No team member is ever disadvantaged by their physical location.
- Meetings are scheduled with global time zones in mind and kept to a minimum.
- Documentation is thorough so anyone can pick up context without a live conversation.
- Results and output take priority over hours logged or time online.
3. Quality Standards
Every project we take on represents Kancoding โ and we hold ourselves to a high bar. Our commitment to quality means:
- Deliverables are reviewed before they reach the client โ internally and iteratively.
- We communicate proactively about scope, timelines, and any blockers.
- We do not cut corners. If something needs more time to be done right, we say so.
- Feedback is welcomed at every stage โ from clients and from within the team.
- We continually improve our craft through learning, research, and peer review.
Team members are expected to take pride in their work and to raise a flag early if they foresee any risk to a project's quality or timeline.
4. Communication & Collaboration
Clear, honest, and timely communication is the backbone of remote work. At Kancoding we expect all team members to:
- Respond to messages within a reasonable timeframe during their stated working hours.
- Keep project management tools up to date so the whole team has visibility.
- Ask questions early rather than making assumptions that could affect delivery.
- Share progress updates proactively โ especially on longer engagements.
- Flag conflicts, blockers, or capacity issues as soon as they arise.
5. Inclusion, Diversity & Respect
Kancoding is committed to building an inclusive, respectful, and welcoming environment for everyone. We do not tolerate discrimination, harassment, or exclusion of any kind โ whether based on race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic.
We celebrate the diversity of our global team and believe that different perspectives lead to better outcomes for our clients and our culture.
6. Confidentiality & Data Protection
Team members have access to client information, project assets, and internal systems as part of their role. All such information must be treated as confidential. Specifically:
- Client data must not be shared outside the project team without explicit authorisation.
- Credentials, API keys, and access tokens must be stored securely and never shared in plain text.
- Work devices and accounts should be protected with strong, unique passwords and two-factor authentication where available.
- Any suspected data breach or security incident must be reported to the team lead immediately.
For more information on how we handle personal data, please read our Privacy Policy.
7. Work Arrangements & Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, all work produced by team members for Kancoding clients โ including designs, code, copy, and other deliverables โ is the property of Kancoding or the relevant client as specified in the project agreement. Team members may not reuse, republish, or share client work without prior written consent.
Portfolio use of completed projects may be permitted on a case-by-case basis with prior approval from Kancoding.
8. Changes to This Policy
This Workplace Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in our operations, team structure, or legal requirements. Team members will be notified of any material changes.
